Waves of Uncertainty
“Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass.
It’s about learning how to dance in the rain.”
- Vivian Greene
Life can be filled with many transitions and challenges, particularly as we get older. There can be no denying that aging is a part of life for all of us. The same holds true for the eventuality of death. These realities are aspects of being human that we all share and will someday face, yet we often do not know the when, how or why of these experiences, nor do we care to think about them.
Perhaps you are observing the changing physical, cognitive, or emotional needs of someone you love. Maybe you are experiencing some of these changes yourself and you feel ill-equipped to handle what is happening, nor do you know what resources exist to help you. Or there may be someone you know who is struggling after the loss of a loved one and you don’t know where to turn or how to best help them with their grief.
We often find ourselves unprepared for life’s unknown and unpredictable challenges. What steps should I take? Am I doing the right thing? We wonder where to turn and wish we had more guidance through the unforeseen and stormy waters surrounding us.
